FAQ. Frequently Asked Questions
Question: For a project of about 200, -1075 sq. ft. (100 m²) units, about how much time can I estimate for the execution of the complete project from placing the order for the mold in the plant until I finish all of the units?Answer: See table with example planning (Pdf)
Question: How is a complete dwelling at shell and core achieved in a day?Answer: The system is studied to follow construction phases. The sequence starts with templates, which lay out the entire dwelling: walls, partitions, windows, doors, installations, electric and plumbing outlets, reinforcements, insulation, etc. Subsequently, once the ensemble of elements is formed, the template is removed so it can be installed for the next dwelling, and so forth. The mold comes after, giving the sequence continuity; it is assembled over each ensemble, and is cast at the end of the day in order to achieve a complete shell and core dwelling. The striking of the mold will proceed the following day for its immediate assembly on the next ensemble, and so on.
Question: By what percentage does construction with molds reduce costs compared to traditional construction?Answer: When working with molds you can save about 15% to 25% or more, as long as the building work is industrialized, mechanized and mass-produced, taking into account that we are working with a machine that must be taken care of and operated correctly.
Question: How much does a mold cost?Answer. The cost of the mold will always depend on the particular project. The architecture and design of the structure, the number of units to be constructed and the deadlines for the execution of the work are some of the factors that determine the cost of the molds. Each project will be individually and personally studied in order to offer the client the most appropriate solutions according to their needs. At PUJOL-BARCONS we always study your project, based on your architecture, design and specifications. According to each case, we present a personalized bid for the supply of the mold as well as for the construction.
Question. Do I have to design my project in a specific way (dimension, qualities, specifications, etc.) so that it can be built with molds?Answer: No. The PUJOL-BARCONS System is completely adaptable to your project, with no limits. The use of molds makes it possible to incorporate and industrialize a whole range of architectural elements that under traditional construction methods would have to be carried out later with skilled labor and at much greater costs. The only constraint is the number of units to be constructed, which must be around 40 to 50, depending on the architecture, for the adequate amortization of the mold. In the Design for the construction with PUJOL-BARCONS molds, the limits are set by your own imagination.
